Karate (Shorei Goju Ryu
Style) We offer separate Karate classes for children and adults. Our
children's classes are designed to help increase attention span, motor control,
awareness, discipline, and respect while learning fundamental karate skills. We
also emphasize and reward academic achievement. Our adults' classes emphasize
awareness, discipline, self-defense, and physical fitness while building strong
karate skills. |
Kickboxing In our
kickboxing classes you'll do much more than run in place and wave your arms in
the air. You'll get a great aerobic workout, and you'll learn proper techniques
for punching and kicking. Learning good technique is important for two reasons:
you are much less likely to injure or strain your joints and muscles, and if you
are ever faced with a self-defense situation, you will be much better prepared
to protect yourself.
Typical classes include stretching and
calisthenics to warm up, kicking and punching drills, shadow boxing, kicking and
punching the bags, working with focus mitts and speed bags (just like the pros),
and partner drills (pairing up to do crunches, practice kicks, and work with the
medicine balls). Handwraps and boxing gloves are required and are included in
your initial sign up.

Executive Boxing Broad
Ripple Martial Arts is pleased to announce the addition of executive boxing
classes to our schedule. These classes are designed to teach men and women the
fundamentals of boxing. No previous experience is required! In each class you
will work and train like a professional boxer. We focus on getting your body in
shape, building solid offensive and defensive techniques, and teaching ring
generalship.
Classes are taught in our boxing gym, which includes a
regulation boxing ring. Typical workouts include aerobics, punching bags, heavy
bags, speed bags, focus mitts, shadow boxing, and paired exercises. No actual
sparring is required. Anyone participating in sparring will be required to wear
headgear, a mouthpiece, and groin protection (for men). Classes are 2 hours in
length; all sparring is totally controlled and supervised.

Tae-Robics Fitness Karate Join us for this fat-burning, sweat-pouring 75
minute cardio workout that will motivate you to keep coming back! The fun
atmosphere and energetic music combined with this one-of-a-kind class can burn
400-600 calories and will get you in shape. No martial art experience is
necessary. Tae-Robics is designed to challenge the physically fit, but can be
adapted for the beginner. |
USGB Sport Karate USGB
Sport Karate is a Kumite based Association and brings a new and unique approach
to the world of karate training in the USA. While many karate schools immerse
themselves in the tradition and mystique of the martial arts, the USGB grabs
karates sporting aspects with both hands, separating the sport from the art,
forming karate athletes whose sole purpose is competitive prowess. | |
